🎓 Scholarships

The Delta Teachers’ Association (DTA) offers two annual scholarships to support students pursuing post-secondary education, with a special focus on future educators and children of DTA members.

Secondary School Scholarship

A $1,200 award is given to a graduating student at each Delta secondary school who plans to enter the teaching profession.

  • Applicants must apply through their secondary school.

  • One recipient is selected by each school.

DTA Scholarship

(formerly the Tad Boyes Scholarship)

This $1,200 scholarship is awarded to the child of an active DTA member.

📌 Eligibility:

  • Must be the child of a current DTA member.

  • Must be graduating from a BC public school in the current school year.

  • The recipient is selected based on the highest average in Grade 12 courses.

📝 Application Details:

  • Complete the DTA Scholarship Application by June 30.

  • Submit an Official Transcript of Grades (from the Ministry of Education) by September 15.

  • The scholarship will be awarded in October.

👥 Scholarship Committee:

  • Chair: DTA 2nd Vice President

  • Members: Ad Hoc committee members as needed

Award Process

Application Submissions

Candidates must submit their Scholarship Application and submit an Official Transcript of Grades from the Ministry of Education by the specific deadlines. Any unofficial transcripts will not be accepted. Completed applications and transcripts can be emailed to jane@deltateachers.org.

Scholarship Recipients

All applicants receive written notification of the decision. The Scholarship award will be awarded in October and recipients will be notified via email.
