Consider becoming a Staff Representative

The role of a Staff Representative is indispensable, serving as the primary connection between site administrators and staff as well as between staff and the DTA.  Training is offered to assist Staff Representatives in various aspects of their role, such as supporting members, working with the Staff Committee to develop site-based processes, participating in Triad, and relaying information.  The DTA office is readily available to provide advice and support.

Staff Representatives should be elected at a site-based DTA meeting in early September.  Also, the Professional Development Chair, the Remedy Chair, the Staff Committee and/ or Chair, and the Health & Safety Rep should be elected in that meeting.

Most sites have more than one Staff Rep. Share the work! You may have one Staff Rep for every 15 members at your site.

We are fortunate to have a consistently remarkable network of dedicated and hard-working staff representatives. We encourage all members to get involved with their union. If you’ve ever considered taking on the role of Staff Rep, please call the DTA office to find out more.
