President’s Message

I want to acknowledge here the incredible dedication, resilience and professionalism of Delta teachers and the other professionals that are part of our membership. Every day, you give your time, energy, and expertise to ensure that students receive the education they deserve—despite the increasing challenges you face.

Advocating for teachers remains our top priority. Whether it’s ensuring safe and reasonable working conditions, addressing workload concerns, supporting members during difficult times, or working alongside the employer to create fair, efficient, equity-based processes across the system for members, the DTA continues to work tirelessly on your behalf.

This advocacy is not limited to the District. Government must acknowledge the shortages in the workforce and the underfunding of the system. We also build relationships with parents in the community through DPAC meetings, coordinating advocacy for better classroom conditions to benefit all.

Now more than ever, we need to stand together as a union. Your voice is essential in shaping the direction of our advocacy and ensuring that we are addressing the needs of all members. I urge you to stay informed, attend meetings, and make your voice heard. Our collective strength is what drives change, and your participation is essential. If you have concerns, speak up. If you need support, reach out. We are stronger together.
